I know nothing of medicine, I'll say that right now.
If it were me, I'd tell everyone around me I'd lost my
voice completely and not speak a word until I had been
seen by the experts or felt a whole lot better. Get
out that pen and paper and let your work colleagues
deal with it. A week of silence -- although it might
drive you batty -- certainly can't hurt. Think of
Jenny Lind.
