I was adopted, and therefore not breast-fed - I was not overly sick as a child. Now life as an adult. . . that is a different story. Nine kids - wow, I have five breast-fed kids, and my son, who is 9, was sick continually for the first two years - "asthma" related illness. Eventually this passed and he is hardly ever sick now.
Elizabeth wrote: Funny, Mom breast-fed all nine of us. But then again, she was a health-food fanatic while we were kids, and started gardening organically about 10 years before it became fashionable.
My devil's advocate response is that there are occasional situations in which breast feeding is not possible. My brother and his wife adopted a child this year, and I'd hate to think he's doomed to sickliness simply because he wasn't breast-fed!
