Is there a break if you attempt a glissando between full chest and your usual mixed voice? If so, does it resemble any of the passagii higher in your voice or is it qualitatively a different experience?
If you bring this low voice up higher, does it still feel different from your normal opera voice?
I used to have to concentrate to gliss through my lowest break without a speed bump. I do it so often now, it is second nature, but I can still do force a "yodel" where there is short stop in the sound while the larynx re-aligns itself to change registers.
While my higher passagio is challenging also (circa Bb-C5), there is never any danger of my voice "cracking" as it can at the bottom. It's more about balancing weight so I can keep going up.
Thanks again!
