concerning larynx positions for the two; the operatic one has the larynx low the whole time. the other i can do high or low larynx, soft pallette closed or open. in other words, the second approach allows me to do much more where the first one is limited. the first one is useful in teaching females who wish to sound operatic in that it shows them that it is not as hard as they think, at least, to get in the ballpark. perhaps the comparison of david daniels and someone like marilyn horne, as previously suggested, would bear this out to be more viable than first appears.
