I've used Messiah Ornamented edited by Peter Wishart, published in 1974 by
Stainer
and Bell, London with great success. After an introductory essay on
ornamentation, the vocal lines for the arias and recits are given with the
ornamented version on the bottom. Another good source for ideas on
ornamentation
are the treatises on playing instruments. Quantz wrote one for the flute that
has
lots of good ideas.
