This mailing list was started in September 1994 to help all singers out
there
find new friends in the Internet, to provide with an academic forum of
discussion and eventually to create a free service for anyone looking for
information on singing related topics. This has resulted in the form of
WWW.VOCALIST.ORG/search and WWW.VOCALIST.ORG/archive web services.
VOCALIST.ORG was registered in 1997 and the mailing list is hosted by the
Oulu
University CSC. As an administrator and the owner of this domain I have to
pay for
all the VOCALIST.ORG services including the mailing list traffic, disk space
needed by the archives and the search engine. In addition to that there are
the
administrative costs for keeping VOCALIST.ORG domain alive.
Should you find VOCALIST interesting and useful for your needs, please
consider
giving a small donation to VOCALIST International. As of May 1998 we are
looking
for an Internet Services Provider (ISP) which allows faster connections,
more disk
space and better service in our home pages at WWW.VOCALIST.ORG. All this
consumes
money and since I want to stick to my original idea of keeping VOCALIST free
for
everyone - a subscription fee is out of the question.
