Was this the version where Nero is a soprano part? I've heard that Mehta is a relatively low countertenor... if this supposedly "low countertenor" managed to sing Nero, I'm going to be depressed! I have found the high tessitura for Nero's music very difficult.
It is his voice large? I've read it's supposed to be quite big.
