I second everything Fiona wrote. But also....

I find a lot of the modern pianos being produced these days--ie. the
instruments, not the musicians--don't have the same subtleties and dynamics
as some of the older and better known names. They just plain can't be
played as softly. This apparently suits a lot of jazz and pop artists, who
like the brighter sound, etc. But I find them terrible for classical
artists.
