I have not had this surgery (although the thought has arisen, since
my reflux is very bad) but I do know another voice teacher who has had
the procedure. He is very happy with the improvement for his reflux,
but has had to be rushed to the hospital on two occasions when his body
needed to regurgitate (food poisoning, flu) and he was unable to do so.
I am not a doctor, so don't know precisely why this should have been the
case, but it is perhaps information you might want to ask about before
having the surgery.
