Yes, her belt tends toward the nasal - she also uses a character voice like
that.

I didn't see the movie - I planned to, but I threw the closing night party for
VIVA LA MAMMA, so I was otherwise occupied.

I thought Kristin Chenowith was wonderful--not only her voice but her acting
also. Matthew Broderick is cute enough she upstaged him coming and going. The
only thing that I can be somewhat negative about is that in a certain part of
her voice she sounds nasal....Her upper range was gorgeous, very round and warm,
but somewhere in the lower middle she got nasal and sort of brassy...sounded
like 2 different voices. Even so, the rest of her voice more than made up for
it, and the fact that she gave the role a certain panache that Shirley Jones
didn't have made for a very enjoyable evening.
I loved it.
