I am confused. C5 is an octave above C4 - middle C. I most
sincerely doubt you can take your chest voice that high, especially
if you are a "bass-baritone". So if you are able to continue the
exercise up that high, and without breaking into a disconnected
falsetto, I would say you have succeeded in finding a connected head
voice.
