When I lived in a tiny condo I owned a small keyboard. (And that was even a tight fit.) The college I work seems to have many more keyboards than pianos. Keyboards of nonstandard sizes just seem to be just everywhere these days. On the other extreme, my aunt currently has a 96 key Bosendorfer piano in her living room. (They can't live without these extra keys.) It seems to me that a numbering system that is based on starting in middle and going out would be more helpful that starting from the end..
Barbara Roberts who is still unclear of what the extra keys on the Bosendorfer actually do.
