Thanks John. There's some neat looking gear in what you've listed.
My approach was to try and get a satisfactory result with minimum outlay. For example, most minidisks have an optical output with an optical cable supplied but unfortunately many may not have a sound card that has an optical input. If they do then that's the way to go. However using analog LINE OUT of the MD into the LINE IN of a sound card should only require a few tests to get the output level to match the requirements of the PC card.
As to the buzz, that suggests an earth loop which can be solved by ensuring that the MD is operating on its internal batteries WITHOUT a charger connected and the one connecting cable only. Not bad for the cost of a single RTS cable. But that cheap one looks good too.
So once again, what is the best, (meaning cheapest) WAV programme to use to store these files in? Thanks Reg.
