Some people think so (and certainly Ms. McNair does), but I know of many
knowlegeable people who would disagree.
Her voice is extremely small (I've heard it referred to as a "vocina"), and
to my ears seems rather colorless and lacking in resonance. Even on
recordings (which are usually kinder to smaller voices) the sound lacks
importance.
Of course, this is all a matter of taste. In these days of body-miked
singers, sound-enhanced opera houses and lip-synched performances, anything
goes!
