That works. But of course, one must be careful singing the "Uh" vowel (as in
"but") in North American English, to make sure it doesn't go back in the
throat, and sound the way most of us speak it. Thinking of the vowel as close
to a *good* "a" vowel is a useful habit to form in classical singing.
