Randye I have a comment here. In one of the choirs I sing with our conductor frequently selects material that was obviously set for belting.
As the principal tenor it is immediately obvious that this material represents a threat to my classical support. I feel you have to recognise this problem and not yield to the exhortations of the enthusiastic conductor to strain in an effort to duplicate that which she demands. " Ever time I...feel the spirit, movin' in my heart I will pray." Does that ring a bell????? Restraint is the answer unless you want to do damage.
