Bob, about that transition at C,

I had a similar difficulty until I nailed the
support problem.

I feel sure there are two extremes of support,
none at all, such as the method most casual
singers use and the over-done rigid support.
Once you become aware of these extremes
you'll be in the position to use only the support
necessary.

I'm sure you've experienced the condition where
to sing without effort is the highlight of a good
day but it's on these same days that I think we
slip into bad habits of NOT supporting, simply
because we feel as if we don't need to.

With that belt on you'll become more conscious
of the relaxation between the phrases as you
breathe and then reapply the support.
