I have attended opera on a few occasions in the Eisenhower Theater at the
Kennedy Center. It is more intimate than one usually encounters. I find
it far more satisfying than larger venues. Perhaps this is what composers
had in mind when opera was a living art form and not museum reproductions
of another era.
As Randy has pointed out--opera ain't where its at anymore.
Too bad.
