Hi Kate-

I haven't had quite such a rapid vocal change as you,
but I am 30, and in the past year I have gone from a
soubrette/light lyric to dramatic coloratura soprano
(I think). I think the fach thing is odd, because
people always ask. I don't know what to tell them
anymore, and it is SO bizarre to have to think about
yourself in a different way. I found my low notes
(which were almost non-existant) are now EXTREMELY
powerful and easy. I don't know if there is anything
you can do until your voice settles in a little bit,
but really ENJOY THE RIDE! It is exciting to find new
things in your voice, and (for me anyway) so much fun
to sing sounds and notes which would have been unheard
of even 2 years ago. Good Luck!

Lisa-Marie

By the way - you wrote "mostly singing light
> Mozart arias (Cherubino, Zerbinetta)" - did you mean
Zerlina? Zerbinetta is from R. Strauss, Ariadne auf
Naxos
