Mike,
Many things in the world of academia are that way. When you live in that 'reality', you have to go by the emperor's rules. We can notice that there are no clothes, but unless we want to lose our jobs, we can't say anything about it. Even if it is pointed out that it makes no difference *where* this list is housed, the perception by many administrators would be changed if it were in a school list.
Of course, many would disagree, and many more probably wouldn't care. C'est la vie.
