Have you looked at Top's arias, "Oh, I was going' a-courtin'" and "That's crazy" from Copland's TENDER LAND?
The Dark Fiddler's song from Delius' A VILLAGE ROMEO AND JULIET is also a great aria for lyric baritone (British, not American).
Bob's aria, "When the air sings of summer", is the quintessential lyric baritone aria from American opera - from Menotti's THE OLD MAID AND THE THIEF.
"Madame, je vous prie", sung by Smirnov in William Walton's THE BEAR is a delightful comic aria for lyric baritone. (also British, not American)
