I've recently started keeping my larynx more stationary when I sing, but it seems impossible for my larynx not to raise when I'm in my upper register. I've tried keeping it stationary while sliding into this range from an octave below, but it seems that if I don't allow my larynx to raise a bit, my range ends at the A right above the treble clef, while usually I have up to a C#. Any ideas on this?
Also, should the larynx move/tilt for different vowels? It seems that my larynx must tilt from its resting position to sing the [i] (as in eat) vowel. Is this correct? If not, does anyone have advice?
