DESCRIPTION: Mozartšs Abduction from the Seraglio
Written when Mozart was only 26 years old, this is a wild tale of a Spanish nobleman trying to rescue his true love from a Turkish harem. The opera, sung in German, was designed to take advantage of the sudden clamor for all things Turkish in fashionable 18th century Europe. With creative staging directed by LizBeth Lucca, this production is double-cast from among the brightest talent in the local opera scene, with orchestra under the baton of Dr. Robert Sage. This is the first full production of LAšs newest professional opera company.
