Early music is something I know little about, repertoire, opportunities, etc. I have a feeling I'm missing out on something...Anyone have resources to recommend? Artists to recommend?
I'm in a transition period, graduating in one more semester, wondering where to take my voice, wondering if I'll ever be ready for opera. I tend to enjoy song repertoire more, arias are exciting, however I don't feel ready for roles; Ina's and Etta's (of the Mozart variety) could be in the future in a few years...
How do I know if my voice will ever fill a big house?
Also, feeling ready for a new teacher, love my current teacher, but will be moving on soon...How do you find a new teacher? It seems even having lessons with someone will not be complete enough, first impressions can be bad or good and still not be accurate, so can talk from other students because what is good for one person is not good for all.
I'm feeling like I'm not ready for a grad school right after graduation, also a bit skeptical about the new trendy schools I hear about from my friends...How do I sift through hype and get to facts? Is there a way to continue studying seriously and perform without jumping straight to a grad program? Europe?
Keeping expenses low...as a US citizen; Canadian schools? I hear U of Toronto produces some wonderful voices...
Sorry for the rambling nature of the post...Just some varied questions, if anyone's got some advice!
Thanks, Milena
