There's a charming duet that I'm working on now that's very easy, and allows great scope for silliness, and ISN'T the fun but way overdone Rossini "Cat Duet".
It's by Michael Balfe (composer of THE BOHEMIAN GIRL), and it's called "Trust Her Not". The music is available from Classical Vocal Repertoire. The text is a poem by Longfellow, and it's got all sorts of parodic elements that I think are hilarious.
