Subject:  RE: [vocalist] "pops" or "pop" singers? [WAS:Male/Female registers]

In the Male/Female registers thread I've seen the term "pops singer"
used repeatedly. I believe the correct term (i.e., the one used by
the singers (and their fans) described by the term) is "pop singer",
short for "popular singer". As far as I know, "pops" is used only in
terms like "Boston pops" to refer to an orchestra that performs pop
music (not "pops music") in a style that is... (I'd better shut up
here.).

Just remember what the little boy thought the priest was telling the usher:
"Dominic go frisk 'im."
