Dear Leslie,

Shouldn't be a problem. Actually, Vioxx (as well as Celebrex), unlike other
NSAIDs tends to promote blood clotting [Can be a problem in cardiac
patients]. That said, you are wise to be concerned about effects of ANY
medications (OTC or prescription) on voice. Along with steroids, NSAIDs,
including these two, can tend to cause fluid retention if taken for more
than a couple of weeks. I'd take the Vioxx for a week. If your shoulder
doesn't feel better, call your doctor; inflammation isn't the problem.

BTW, someone else mentioned "800mg". The correct dose of Vioxx is 12.5mg to
25mg per day for degenerative arthritis, including rotator cuff problems.
A smaller percentage of patients with rheumatoid arthritis may respond to
50mg per day; but as the dose increases, so does the risk of potential side
effects. So as always, check with your own doctor.

GWendel, dT
