it is perhaps here that i betray my preference to rely on what i feel to what is actually going on. we could look at the various movements of one's right hand as unique and different muscle movements but, most of us would probably feel as if all those movements are just different things we do with that same right hand. and, unlike our right hand, most of us have so little feel, if any, for all the muscles that act on the vocal folds.
