Anything that impedes a free tone is rooted in
improper technique (except for those rare cases when
it is actually some sort of physical/vocal handicap or
problem). The challenge is finding out WHAT aspect of
the technique is causing it to happen! Each issue has
its own characteristic sound, so it's a matter of
learning to recognize them. Of course, your eyes can
also tell you a lot about what is not working
properly!
