The only time any thing like this ever happened to me in a performance was during my Master's recital. We opened with the Vivaldi "Stabat Mater" with harpsichord (why does that word not like right with OR without the h?). Part of the way through, the music stand on the harpsichord collapsed. The page turner, who was standing upstage of the accompanist, spent the rest of the piece leaning forward holding the music in place. The only problem with this was that the page turner, one of my best friends, is absolutely gorgeous - looks like a Rennaisance angel - and was wearing a fairly low-cut dress. I don't think anyone heard anything I sang for the rest of the piece. :-)
