Sorry to chime in so late on this, but I was only just leafing through my
copy of Vaccai's vocal exercises, and I noticed that Vaccai put words on
virtually ALL of his exercises. The book includes exercises for all sorts
of different technical issues - e.g., fioratura, appoggio, trills,
portamento, etc. Might be worth checking out for those who want some new
exercises that include actual words.
