in terms of the original question. i don't mean it has taken the place of
opera. i mean, i think it could be seen as an evolution of opera (perhaps
unaware of its ancestry). i can easily imagine wagner as a film maker.
It makes sense, in terms of the emotional reactions it may cause, but, as I
said, I wouldn't consider that valid because it does not reflect all the art
involved in opera ( I think I don't have to say what ).
