I think I can do better for you concerning the recordings; they are all on Opal CD 9823 (Pavilion Records), with a booklet, of which I wrote the major part. Farinelli he was /not/; but he had sung the Seraph's aria from Beethoven's "Christus am Oelberge" at the funerals of two Italian kings; a taxing effort indeed, but too early for adequate recording.
