I'm a tenor in my mid-twenties who lives in the Seattle area, and I stay busy;
I'm a regular member of the Seattle Opera chorus (AGMA card! Woo-hoo!), I've
done roles and outreach performances for some of the smaller companies in the
area, I sing some early music, and I do a ton of Gilbert & Sullivan (presently
in rehearsals for The Gondoliers). Trying to break into the oratorio circuit;
was hired last year for a Messiah for one of the better local orchestras only to
have it cancelled. I sing at my church, but it's not a "church job" per se -
music there is not yet a paid ministry beyond the organist & choirmaster. (We're
working on that, however...) Focusing this year on trying to widen my scope;
I'll enter the Mets this year for this first time, as well as some other
competitions, and my hope is to get into a young artist program within the next
year or two - I'm putting together a demo within the next several months for
that purpose.

For me at this point, it's a nice second income that I can't complain about
terribly much. I hope to be able to live on it in a couple of years or so - time
will tell.

Tschuess,

Richard
