Hey guys,

I've avoided posting my own tootation because since I'm taking a year off, I
feel I don't have so much about which to toot. But then I just figured, what
the hey.

I'm taking a year off from my masters at CCM (I'm also a baby at 23) --
something that I am SO glad that I did. I was just getting a little
disenchanted with academia, and I wanted to live as a real person for a
while. I did my undergrad at Eastman, which was an incredible experience. I
loved it there. I got to do TONS of performing, I served as the student body
president, and being the nerd that I am, I also buried myself in academics,
and ended up being valedictorian. Needless to say -- I should have taken a
year off BEFORE going to grad school. I'll be returning to CCM in the fall.

Anyway, so here I am in Houston, doing tons of teaching (private voice, as
well as choir, dance and musical theatre classes), giving master classes at
the arts high school, singing at a few local restaurants, I did Tannhauser
with HGO this fall (just in the chorus), was a featured singer/dancer in a
musical theatre Christmas Review, and now I'm getting ready to go up to
Wisconsin to do Gymnasia in Forum at the Fireside Theatre. It's such a cool
turn around from the roles I was doing just a year ago! (I'm a lyric mezzo
with decent coloratura) I love musical theatre, and I'm hoping that it is
something that I can continue to do throughout my career...not always an easy
task, but I intend to do it.

Then this summer I'm returning for my fourth season with the Ohio Light
Opera, doing a number of operetta roles.

So, that's me.
