i think he sings the way he intends to. in his 'pop' songs, it would

less appealing, to most of his fans if, he sang them like i think you are
suggesting he should.

about a year ago, i downloaded about eight different versions of 'di
quella pira'. the standard by which i judge all versions of that aria is
franco corelli's recording. surprisingly, bocelli came in second followed
by bonisolli and del monaco (zucker would be shocked). in his singing of
this aria, his technique was different and very appropriate to this aria.
it is obvious to me that bocelli believes that there is more than one
approach to singing.
