Why is it necessary that we get everyone else to accept our point of view? I am free to share my experience and hope that some of what I share may help someone else or give them food for thought, but I don't feel put down if they don't accept my experience and make it their own. It has been my experience over a long lifetime of learning that it is usually the persons who are least secure who are desperate to have everyone else accept their arguments and points of view. I guess this somehow makes them feel worthy.
Of course, we like it when others agree with us and find value in our ideas. Put when I catch myself trying to push my ideas on people, I have to stop and take a closer look at things. I have nothing to prove, after all, but some- times I forget that. :)
