Let's close this. The last word is-

If you sing in a choir/chorus/chorale and your director indicates how (s)he
wants
a word pronounced in singing you say, "yes sir" or "yes ma'am" and don't argue!
Who's right? The director, of course. If the director tells you to say,
"Jezus"
then you sing "Jezus." If you don't like the director's choice than go start
your
own choir.
