There are no silent letters in latin; however, latin nouns are
inflected for case, and both Jesu and Jesus occur, depending on
the grammatical usage. Having said that, I can't guarantee
that the church knows latin very well these days - so the
practices of various parishes and choir directors may vary - my
suggestion would be to do whatever they tell you.
