Oh, I've definitely got a good teacher! :-) We just haven't started working on this yet and I was looking for other opinions on the matter in addition to hers. I'm very happy for the reassurance I've gotten. It's encouraging as I work up for the auditions next year. It leaves me a little bit of room in my choices - pieces that I've been relegating to the "well, I used to be able to do those, but there's that note...". Now I'll probably be a little less worried about that sort of thing and choose things based on other factors like whether or not they fit into the types of roles I might be typically cast in, whether they sound good in my voice, etc. And look at the harder notes more as challenges to overcome than as something impossible to re-attain.
Thanks!
Laura

the notes, or the mechanism to produce the notes, should still be there unless there is something you've left out. Find a good teacher.
