Sorry not to have written sooner (busy weekend) but I completely
understand the boredom thing ... especially with Caro Mio Ben!!!!
I've been working on Vittoria Mio Core! which is great. It was the
piece that made me discover the Bartolli CD. Unfortunately, I have
my moments of absolute frustration with the piece because I don't
sound like Bartoli!
When I get to the boredom/frustration point, I usually go into a mad
sight-reading phase to discover new stuff or I pull out Carmen!! If
I can't sing like Bartoli, I certainly can't do a Maria Callas Carmen
either. I sing excerpts of Carmen... badly .... and then, once I
start getting a headache from the sound of my own voice, I'm then
persuaded that I should just stick with good old Vittoria and go back
to it refreshed!!!!!
Works every time!
