if you use gravity to help you, you'll take in more air with less effort in the right places than an other way. the best way to get the feel of it is to exhale all your air, pulling in all your abdominal muscles. pause but, don't lock your throat as if you were holding your breath. then, just 'drop' your abs (sudden relaxation of) and let that drop pull the air in for you (it helps to have your mouth open the whole time). it will probably feel like you threw your gut out the window (individual sensations may differ). this approach is very similar to Qi Gong breathing.
