Dear People,
Just another comment on this issue. When I was singing as a teenager, I actually made the decision NOT to pursue a career in singing (in the classical realm) because I knew that I would be having a family and was not prepared to sacrifice that dream for a career. Looking back, I feel very saddened because I did not have my first child until I was 29 so, I would have had many years to do SOMETHING. Sorry about the capitals but that is exactly how I feel. So, now I teach from home and put my kids in care because my husband is on a disability pension and has such a variable routine (sleeping, mobility etc) that I cannot rely on him to look after them. Plus they are small, 4, 2, 8months, and would want to be with me. I feel like the epitome of "Those who can't, teach!"
