Well, at the first lesson I have with a student, there is a lot of talking going on, especially if he or she haven't taken lessons before. I find out what s/he knows, what s/he thinks s/he knows, what my philosophy is and why he/she is taking lessons.
I find the teacher's badmouthing the previous teacher and scaring the student by discussing "damage" to be reprehensible. Is Teacher D a NATS member? If so, she's in violation of NATS rules and could be drummed out of NATS.
