Hi David,
Yes, there is/are teachers in Australia who teach Speech Level Singing.
If you give me a few days, I will find out their names for you.
Also, there is a certification process now in place for those teachers
wanting to learn and teach Speech Level Singing. There are five levels of
certification. Each level is based upon years in business, years studying
SLS, and how many accumulative hours of continuing education with an
Education Management Team member you have studied.
There are some great benefits to becoming certified. First off, one may
not use the Seth Riggs/Speech Level Singing name without certification.
Secondly, the certification insures that anyone looking for a teacher will
know what to expect from them and can be assured of a high level of
competency. Third, the organization has an infrastructure of learning,
education, and networking that each teacher is able to plug into. Take, for
example, you. You are asking for a SLS teacher in Australia and I am in
Portland, Oregon. However, by making just a few phone calls, I can link you
to a teacher/network in Australia.
Hope this answers some of your questions!!!
Sincerely,
Mary Beth Felker-Osborn
