Karen, I was also thinking that part of the problem might not be the vowel,
or the breath, but rather the "l" on "la" that is keeping you from singing
that B easily...I liked the suggestions Vicki made, as well. Have you
vocalized this section without the consonants? Another thing I often do is
think about setting the consonant, if it is liquid, as this one is (carrying
pitch), on the pitch below the high note, then opening the vowel on the B.
