while symbolic gestures are needed by many, what is needed for all of us
is to get strong, literally. we are a capitalist country living in an
increasingly capitalist world. what we can do is go out and spend money.
it doesn't have to be a lot, just spend in as many different places as you
can on a regular basis. consumer confidence is a very powerful symbol.
