Hello,

I don't remember if the original poster wanted specifically OPERA music.
Here are a few ideas, non-operatic mostly.

As seen in "The Art of the Song Recital" (Emmons/Sonntag, Schirmer Books), page
66:

1650-1729 Barbara Strozzi and Elisabeth Jacquet de la Guerre
1815-1850 Pauline Duchambze, Pauline Viardot-Garcia, Loïsa Puget
1759-1896 Maria Theresia von Paradis, Fanny Mendelssohn, Clara Schumann
1857-1918 Cécile Chaminade, Germaine Tailleferre, Lili Boulanger, Thea Musgrave

Also, Colette is the librettist of Ravel's l'Enfant et les Sortilèges. Lots of
music in there.

I have commissioned and first-performed songs from:
Montreal-based composer and organist Rachel Laurin (le Bestiaire, Trois Fables);
and Swiss composer May Breguet (le Bestiaire). The songs have been published
and commercialized.

Sincerely,
