thanks for the reminder. i think it is the brown tree snake. when i
wrote the post, all i could think of was 'brown snake' which i know is a
very, very deadly snake in australia. so, i knew it wasn't that but, i just
couldn't think of what it was. and, now that you mention it, the thought
that they were stowaways on military ships seems familiar too.
i suppose we could tie this in with vocalist-temp. by mentioning the fact
that this snake is working on making the songbirds of guam extinct, even
thought these are not human vocalists, they are vocalists just the same and,
it would appear their existence will be 'temporary' (i wonder what would
happen if someone let a few of these snakes loose in the opera house...)
