Darlin',

I was a nurse before I was a musician. If your tonsils are that huge and
causing that bad of an infection they aren't working anyway. By all means
get rid of them! You will probably be LESS sick! Besides, I think I am
correct in stating that even healthy tonsils are only good for so
long............in adults they usually atrophy, right docs?

The bad news is that if you have a tonsillectomy after puberty you are in for
it pain-wise. My daughter had hers out at 14 and so help me she was in bed
for 10 days. I was 13 and felt the same way. But I can remember starting to
sing again after a few weeks and being amazed at how much more resonant my
voice was. The same thing happened with my daughter.

Feel Better!
